Junior Systems Engineer | MSTAT – Athens (Hybrid)

MSTAT, with over two decades of experience in the mobile ecosystem, is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Junior Systems Engineer to support the reliability, security and scalability of its infrastructure and deployment environments.

Role Overview

The successful candidate will support the maintenance and day-to-day operation of the company’s IT infrastructure and deployment environments, working alongside experienced team members to ensure system performance, security and operational continuity.

The role provides hands-on exposure to infrastructure deployment, system administration, networking and monitoring operations, with opportunities to gradually develop technical expertise and take on increased responsibility.

Main Responsibilities

• Support backup and recovery operations and perform routine checks
• Monitor infrastructure, server performance, utilization and system resources
• Support the administration and maintenance of IT equipment, including servers, storage systems, network devices and related hardware
• Monitor infrastructure alerts and support the use and configuration of monitoring and logging tools
• Manage user credentials, access permissions and authentication systems following established procedures
• Support employee onboarding and offboarding processes, including account creation, access provisioning and equipment setup
• Manage and resolve first-level and routine infrastructure and operational requests through the internal ticketing system, escalating when necessary
• Assist with license management for online services, renewals and compliance tracking
• Maintain infrastructure documentation
• Support development and deployment processes
• Participate in disaster recovery, infrastructure resilience, automation and business continuity activities

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Up to 2 years of relevant experience in Systems Administration, Systems Engineering, or Infrastructure roles
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field
• Basic knowledge of Linux environments and system administration
• Familiarity with infrastructure concepts, networking, monitoring and deployment processes
• Exposure to or basic understanding of technologies such as Apache, MySQL (MariaDB), PHP, HAProxy, Kafka, Redis and Git will be considered an advantage
• Basic understanding of IT security principles and best practices
• Willingness to learn and develop technical skills in infrastructure, automation and security
