About the job

Role purpose:
Network Project Manager is responsible for leading network programs or projects of particular complexity and business importance for VF GR. F&DM must be able to negotiate with NSE management, VF GR BUS & IT stakeholders product scope details and delivery timelines, setup corresponding Project structures, coordinate stream leaders and ensure delivery according to requirements following approved budget, time and agreed quality KPIs.F&DM manages exposed to C-band senior stakeholders, program & project management activities such as requirements gathering, scope definition, activities time planning, team staffing, cost controlling, risk management, stakeholder and communication management.

Key accountabilities and decision ownership:

  • Manages the full lifecycle of Network programs and projects: feasibility study, development, testing, acceptance and implementation of network platforms, in all Network technology areas (Mobile&Fixed Access, Voice&Data Core, Services, Transmission & Transport, Digital & OSS)
  • Interfaces and collaborates with NSE MDM for GR, vertical Managers and Network domain experts allocated for aforementioned Projects, as well as VF GR BUS stakeholders
  • Apply Feasibility Assessment & Delivery Management NSE processes
  • Defines the project plan in agreement with all parties involved including the external stakeholders. Defines the detailed project activities and monitors/tracks them permanently
  • Builds the projects organizational model and makes sure that resources are available at all times, so that project deliverables are not affected (no business impact)
  • Responsible for the information flow/ communication within the team and with the main stakeholders, internal and external NSE (stage gate approval, complete technical solution sharing and associated costs)
  • Performs risk management and change management as part of the project activities to make the business requirements of the external customers are met, including costs, timelines and agreed quality KPIs
  • Permanently tracks projects’ evolution and timely reports project status to VF GR MDM & related stakeholders
  • Implement solid program & project management principles and related PM tools across the organization. Support NSE depts., with processes and tools, in managing the projects they run inside their units

Key Deliverables:

  • Project plans, on time delivery within approved budget for all programs & projects, with impact in VF GR network elements
  • Other project management documents: project charter, activity planning, resource planning, status report, budget report, risks & issues log
  • Timely accurate reporting of all projects; prevent roadblocks by early identifying and raising issues to the VF GR MDM

Core competencies and experience:

  • Excellent communication skills – ability to report on an executive level
  • Ability to lead complex programs , coordinate project managers, work within virtual teams and interface with multi-national domain experts
  • Strong results oriented and customer focused mentality
  • Process, program & project management
  • Good knowledge of the overall network architecture (all domains)
  • Strong stakeholder management
  • At least 3-years of experience in managing Network Projects, preferably cross departmental

Must have technical and professional qualifications:

  • University degree

(preferable: computer science, telecommunications or equivalent)

  • Good awareness of wider technology aspects in telecommunications and ICT
  • Project Management certifications (Waterfall, Agile/SAFe)
  • Inter-functional relationships between network elements
  • Financial acumen
