Provide ecological/ornithological advice to colleagues and clients including (but not limited to) survey design, data collection, data analysis and interpretation, and impact assessments;
Produce and review documentation in relation to ecology/ornithology, principally: annual reports, screening/scoping and feasibility studies, Preliminary Environmental Information, Environmental Impact Assessment, Environmental Statement chapters, Habitats Regulations Assessments, and licence applications;
Delivery of other documentation as required;
Manage multiple small and large-scale projects including contracts, staff, subcontractor and budget management (where appropriate);
Maintain an understanding of the current guidance, and approaches being used in the onshore renewables sector, to inform the requirements for this advice;
Contribute to business development by identifying new opportunities, feeding into tenders and quotes;
Maintain, develop and manage relationships with clients, colleagues, consultee bodies and industry contacts to successfully deliver projects and assist our continued business growth.
PERSON PROFILE
Education & Qualifications
Educated to degree level in Biology, Environmental Science or a relevant discipline and/or equivalent experience;
Relevant professional qualification such as IEMA or CIEEM;
CSCS card.
Specialist Knowledge and Skills
Knowledge and experience of ecology/ornithology (including survey design, data collection, data analysis and interpretation);
Able to provide clear and concise instructions to ensure objectives are understood;
Adopt a flexible approach to be able to manage tasks concurrently, and to be able to handle short notice pieces of work;
Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills to effectively manage relationships with contractors, clients and colleagues;
Show initiative to solve problems and provide innovative ideas;
Possess excellent team working skills;
Knowledge of onshore renewables sector;
Knowledge of UK planning/permitting processes;
Knowledge and experience of producing ecology or ornithology EIA chapters;
Knowledge and experience of Habitat Regulations.
Relevant experience
Experience of onshore ecology/ornithology survey design, data collection, data analysis and interpretation;
Experienced at project management, including time and resource allocation;
Experience of the onshore renewables sector;
Specific experience of EIA for onshore renewables.

Due to travel required within the role a full driving licence, valid in the UK is required.
