Médecins Sans Frontières is an international independent medical-humanitarian organization, which offers assistance to populations in distress, to victims of natural or human-made disasters and to victims of armed conflict, without discrimination and irrespective of ethnicity, religion, creed or political affiliation. Position objectives

Under the general direction of the Administrative Council (Board of Directors), the Association Department aims to foster active membership within the association and a productive associative dialogue. The Association Department is a crucial link between the members, the board and the associations of other MSF sections. Its role is to cultivate a strong, vibrant, well-informed association and open its dimensions to MSF international movement. The Association Administrative Assistant will provide administrative and communication support for the projects of the association.

Responsibilities

  • Support the organization and implementation of key associative events, such as workshops, discussions, meetings, working groups and especially during the period prior and past the MSF-Greece Annual General Assembly, in accordance with the annual action plan of the association.
  • Support, further develop and implement the internal communications plan of the association with focus on management and regular update of online platforms, social media, website, newsletter and new tools.
  • Encourage and facilitate the attendance of association members and other staff of MSF at MSF events.
  • Liaise with and support the rest associative projects with a focus on membership participation and engagement with local communities.
  • Manage the database of membership.
  • Manage the institutional memory of the association; archiving of important documents, minutes, etc. in physical and/or electronic way and ensure the association has access to them.
  • Provide administrative support such as minutes keeping, filing, logistics for events, presentations and reports.
  • Actively participate and contribute in the Association Department at ad hoc activities and tasks when requested by his/her supervisor.

Selection criteria

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Desirable working experience in related relevant positions
  • Working experience in MSF or other NGOs will be considered an asset.
  • Desirable experience in communications and event management
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
  • Experience in digital tools and conversant with online platforms (i.e. website, blogs, newsletters, use of social media)
  • Ability to write clearly, process, edit and format reports and documents
  • Fluency in Greek and English, both oral and written
