Quantitative Risk Analyst – Athens – Finvent

We are seeking a talented and service-minded person to join our team as a Quant Analyst in our Investment & Risk Management Software Unit for our market risk and optimization solutions. In this role, you will help our clients across Europe, Middle East and Africa to optimize risk-related and hence business workflows by implementing and advising on technology solutions to streamline their processes for increased efficiencies and reduced market risks.

Typical tasks include workflow and client-risk needs analysis, requirement specification, system configuration, data conversion, specifications of custom deliverables, system testing, user training and client communication. You will also advise on potential enhancements to clients’ technology stack and processes.

  • Implement functional specifications as well as detailed calculation descriptions for our Risk Analytics, Risk Management and Risk Compliance Application as per client needs.
  • Provide risk know-how, business consulting as well as pre-sales support-services to our internal team in their client acquisition efforts.
  • Review and understand existing functional specifications of our risk products and become the point person with 3rd party partner organizations in reference to our risk solutions suite features, demonstrations and issue resolution.
  • Coordinate with the Software Engineering Team responsible for the implementation of these methods.
  • Research, analyze and specify new software functionality (market, credit and regulatory compliance) based on established or newly developed quantitative methods in finance and/or regulatory requirements.
  • Lead all new functionality or product modifications implementation, responding to clients’ needs.
  • Respond to clients’ inquiries and act as point person to discuss methodology issues.

Qualifications & skills

  • 3-4+ years’ work experience in a Market Risk Management (RM) analysis or RM application engineering role, preferably within a financial or investment management institution.
  • Master’s degree in Risk Management, Financial Mathematics with exposure to financial mathematics or financial engineering is preferred.
  • Relevant business analysis experience, at least 2-3 years long, at market risk management units can compensate for a less quantitative educational background. Very good knowledge of Matlab as well as LATEX is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of SQL relational database, ability to write SQL queries.
  • Strong knowledge of the finance industry and/or of software development (in risk management) with a motivation and capability to develop both sets of skills.
  • Acquisition of Advent Software Consulting Certification is a requirement for this position.
  • Fluency in the English and Greek languages; additional European languages are a plus.
  • Holder of a european passport or EU Working Visa is required.
  • Team-worker in a multilingual, international, team-working environment
  • Strong business skills and ability to quickly understand client business processes. Ability to apply troubleshooting and analytical skills when resolving problems.
