Associate Accountant – Back Officer – Athens – Onasis group

Job Description

ASOFIN Management SA [part of Onassis Group of companies] is looking for an Associate Accountant – Back Officer to join the back-office team and perform end to end monitoring and reporting support with a focus on the Financial Assets Management and Treasury operations of the Group.


Main responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring, updating, conducting reconciliations, bookings and reporting of capital investments and other business development projects with specific focus on financial instrument investments (Listed Equities, Fixed Income Securities, Derivatives listed & OTC, Private Equities and Loans)
  • Back-office work and daily accounting/bookkeeping (updating MIS, books, and records). Performing daily/monthly portfolio reconciliations
  • Working closely both with the Investment team to produce ad hoc financial reports (portfolio position, performance etc.) according to their needs and the Treasury team to monitor liquidity and proper funding of capital investments and other business development projects
  • Issuing, obtaining signatures, corresponding with banks and update records for various payments/transfers
  • Assisting in the production and preparation of interim and annual financial statements ensuring appropriate accounting treatment of all financial instruments in accordance with IFRS
  • Working closely with the Treasury Team to ensure the accuracy, integrity and completeness of all financial information related to investments and financial instruments including gathering and appropriately recording Mark-to Market valuations of investments and to produce Periodic Management Reports

Job Requirements

Eligible candidates should meet the following requirements:

  • University degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Business Administration
  • Good knowledge of Capital Markets Operations (Financial Instruments, Derivatives, Private Equities etc.)
  • Postgraduate degree or an accounting professional qualification will be considered as advantage
  • Previous working experience in a relevant position (3 years). Exposure in the investment banking and financial asset management operations will be considered an advantage.
  • Good knowledge of IFRS especially in relation to accounting for financial instruments
  • Fluency in English language (verbal and written)
  • Familiarity with SAP and MIS environments will be considered as advantage
  • Excellent command of all MS Office Applications (especially Excel)
