Job Title: New Fundraising Markets Project Manager

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international, independent, medical and humanitarian action-driven organization that delivers emergency aid to populations affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural disasters and exclusion from healthcare. MSF offers assistance to people based on need irrespective of race, religion, gender or political affiliation. The MSF movement is built around 5 operational centers (OCs) and numerous offices worldwide.

Position objectives

To assess opportunities, develop and implement a plan of expansion in Cyprus, with the objective to guarantee long-term funding for MSF’s work and social mission across multiple channels.


  • Identify different options for an MSF Greece presence in Cyprus through fundraising and communication activities, ensuring full consideration of audiences (internal and external) and propositions to create an engaging strategic plan aligned to the organizational strategy.
  • Build and deliver business cases for future investment if decided in the MSF GR Strategic Plan.
  • Cultivate existing relationships in Cypriot society, continue to foster a culture of exchange and awareness around MSF activities
  • Conduct a market analysis and develop a fundraising plan of action for potential new donors
  • Contact and liaise with key stakeholders and cultivate relationships with existing and potential donors
  • Develop advertising briefs and participate in relevant meetings


  • Participates in networking events

Analysis and initiative

  • Prepare and submit monthly reports for the implementation of the plan
  • Review and anticipate possible deviations and deliver recommendations to ensure the successful implementation of the plan

Planning and organizing

  • Responsible for the development and implementation of the market entry plan
  • Monitor relevant KPIs

Selection criteria

  • Degree in Marketing, Business Administration or in a relevant discipline. Postgraduate studies will be considered a plus.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role
  • Very good knowledge of new markets development process and project management procedures
  • Very good knowledge of fundraising and communication mechanisms and processes
  • Experience in major grants management
  • Good command of IT tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Good understanding of the marketing and media landscape in Greece and Cyprus
  • Fluency in Greek and English both oral and written
  • Prior working experience in an NGO is an asset. Field experience with MSF or other international NGOs will be considered a plus.

Post conditions

  • Position based in Cyprus or in Athens MSF HQs, with the ability to travel in Cyprus
  • Fixed-term (3 months) with the possibility of extension
  • Full-time position
  • Compensation according to MSF Salary Grid plus secondary benefits
