You will join the Finance & Accounting Department team which is responsible for the provision of the Group’s overall accounting services for Greece, and Internationally. As a Senior Accountant you will apply accepted accounting principles and procedures, gather & analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely accounting reports / statements and ensure accounting control procedures are followed.
As a Senior Accountant your tasks will include the following:
- Reconciliation of General Ledger, Vendor and Customer balances, on a daily, monthly basis.
- Data entry for all transactions when it is necessary.
- Monitor the smooth operation of accounting procedures and coordinate the communication within the team to ensure that all information is accessible
- Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close processes
- Ensure all accounting and fiscal reporting deadlines are met
- Participate in financial audit, prepare all information needed and oversee the whole process
- Εstablish and monitor the implementation and maintenance of accounting control procedures.
- Compile and analyze accounting information to prepare financial statements and to recommend or develop efficient use of resources and procedures
- Provision of requested information to auditors
What we look for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance
- Β’ class signature holder ( A’ class signature holder will be considered as an asset)
- Master’s Degree in Accounting and/or ACCA Professional Certification will be preferred
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a relevant role with GAAP and/or IFRS accounting standards requirements preferably in multinational business environment
- Excellent knowledge of generally accepted practices and principles, economic and audit principles
- Proven working experience in ERP Systems. Working Knowledge of Navision ERP will be considered as an asset
- Excellent command of the Greek and English language (C2 level)
- Excellent working knowledge in Excel (ECDL Core/Expert certification will be considered an asset).
- Ability to demonstrate attention to details, accuracy and a problem – solving approach
- Ability to gather, plan and organize information to make the right decision, meeting strict deadlines

Working on Home Office (HO) Secure English Language Tests (SELTs)
Any person who is engaged by PeopleCert to work on the SELT service must undergo a Background Check (the results of which must be acceptable to PeopleCert and the HO) prior to commencing their SELT duties. All SELT personnel will be required to complete a declaration (provided by PeopleCert) where the existence of any criminal record and/or bankruptcy must be declared.
If working on the SELT service in the UK, background checks will include:
- A basic or enhanced Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check
- Right to Work in the UK check (including nationality, identity and place of residence)
- HO security check (Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) or Counter Terrorist Check (CTC)
- Financial background check
- Employment reference check.
- If working on the SELT service anywhere in the world (outside of the UK) personnel will undergo background checks that are equivalent to those stated for the UK.
In addition, if personnel are required to speak to SELT candidates they must be appropriately skilled in English language and, where SELT services are provided anywhere in the world (outside of the UK), the official language of the relevant country.
