Ownership of L+G Global Product Environmental Compliance Policy, Procedure, Process Maps, Corporate Standards and roll-out of support training (as required)
Engagement with required internal and external stakeholders (ESG, Quality, Procurement and Engineering, Consultancies, Regulatory / Advisory bodies)
Acting as SME and regulatory lead on technical product environmental programmes (e.g. RoHS (including exemptions), REACH (including SCIP), WEEE, CA Prop 65, Conflict / Extended Minerals, TSCA, POP and ensuring the tracking of future requirements related to these topics)
Providing SME input into Green Design process and ongoing product life-cycle programme / activities across the organisation
Development, implementation, and maintenance of Supplier Green Procurement requirements (e.g. Green Procurement Requirements contained within Supplier Code of Conduct and management of supplier life-cycle / logistic information)
Manage ongoing Third-Party Product Environmental Compliance programme through Assent
Provide Product Environmental SME support in relation to global customer queries / bids and tenders
Co-ordination of required sample-based product analytical testing, including follow-up and management of any non-compliance issues
Develop and lead Global Product Environmental Stewardship Committee and lead product environmental stewardship activities (e.g. maintenance of REACH statement)
Ongoing review / governance of Product Environmental compliance (including product environmental audits, P-Gate reviews and review of the required deliverable)
Support wider Environmental System requirements globally, including:
Provide SME input into IMS / ESG objective setting in relation to environmental KPIs, maintenance of Environmental Aspects and Impacts register, Environmental Risk Management and global environmental initiatives (e.g. energy management)
Acting as the interface between ESG / CSR Team and local implementation sites
Development, implementation, and maintenance of environmental analysis / reporting requirements (using existing Environmental database information)
Internal and External reporting requirements (e.g. SoFi and EcoVadis)
Providing Product Environmental SME input into SAP development programme
ISO audits as required (particularly in relation to Product Environmental / ISO14001 compliance)
Investigate environmental incidents and support reporting requirements (as required)
Develop and deliver technical environmental training across the organisation (as required)
Supplier Code of Conduct and Green procurement requirement reviews of suppliers
Support supplier auditing programme in relation to Green Procurement Requirements
Co-ordinate and liaise with external agencies and customers in relation to product environmental / ESG topics (as required)
Key Performance Indicators
Environmental compliance status of L+G Product Portfolio across applicable internal policy requirements and environmental legislation / best-practice
Provision of Product Environmental guidance / training
Key Areas of Responsiblity
Act as Global SME in relation to Product Environmental topics
Lead Product Environmental input into Product Environmental Stewardship Committee
Lead review / governance activities in relation to Product Environmental program (including final product compliance)
Key contributor to 2022-2024 cycle ESG initiatives, in particular to a) Resource Efficiency and b) Strategic Responsible Sourcing
Required Skills
Degree level qualification in Environmental Science, Engineering or other related subject (e.g. Sustainability)
Relevant Professional Membership (e.g. IEMA)
Available to travel to L+G Global sites (as required)
Previous experience of working in a manufacturing / product development environment
Working knowledge of Product Environmental regulations / requirements
Strong analytical, technical, and statistical skills
Ability to co-ordinate activities with multiple stakeholders across a multi-site, multi-functional and global environment
