Programme Leader for the School of Education

Mediterranean College Athens is looking to recruit a full-time (permanent contract) Programme Leader for the School of Education, to lead the academic delivery and team of tutors for selected Education programmes.
As a programme Leader you are expected to work closely with our academic partner, the University of Derby; develop, maintain and improvethe delivery of programmes, with responsibility for academic quality decision making; maintain an up-to-date knowledge of academic rules, regulations & procedures and accurately implement them; adequately support students and staff to reach their goals and thrive.
Responsibilities will include:
Contribute to the day-to-day operational management of the programmes by a variety of activities (liaising with partner University, timetabling, allocation of resources, communications, etc).
Contribute to and ensure key quality standards are met via a variety of quality assurance processes and reports.
Actively engage in the recruitment, appointment, induction, professional development, and performance management of reporting academic staff.
Manage the admissions process, monitor student’s academic performance, and provide them with coaching and counselling.
Organise a rigorous academic & professional development scheme for students to enhance their overall experience.
Be involved in teaching, supervision and tutoring activities.
The ideal candidate:
Possesses a PhD in an Education/ Pedagogical area or a Master’s degree along with relevant professional experience.
Has extensive teaching experience and has undertaken tutoring and dissertation supervisory roles.
Has been successfully involved in academic management activities and quality assurance processes, within the UK higher education system.
Is research-active and committed to continuous professional development.
